I got my iPhone!

And I'm grinning like a 7 year old about that's about to go to Chuck E. Cheese's!

Kinda like this guy here....

LOL!

Awww Mayyyne!!!

The Olympics are over...*sigh* What a great 2 weeks in the world of sports! This year's Olympics really has been, in my opinion, the best in history! I enjoyed every second that I was glued in front of the TV until the wee hours of the morning watching all of those history making moments! But, on a more positive note, maybe I can get some decent sleep now cause my body's sleep clock has been waaay off...lol! Well, guess there's nothing else to say except....I can't wait until 2012!!!! Lol!

Real Friends

I received a forwarded text message the other day, and although I usually DESPISE them, this one really meant something to me. It said...
Real friends don't have to speak to or see each other daily to remain in each other's hearts.

I love this statement because it rings out so true...especially for me and my friends. As we've all gotten older and started going on with our lives after school, we rarely get to see each other. That just makes the times that we do get together all the more special! And though I have different groups of friends, this statement applies for all of them! So for my

BFFs Lacie and Julia

my backbone group of friends affectionately known as 2 Live (and this is still not all of 2 Live...Mandy, Jerry, Dino, Jason, Peter, Erik, Vel, and Attiya are not pictured.)

my old J&J crew,

and everybody in between...even if I don't see you all of the time...out of sight is not out of mind for me. I Love You and am blessed to have you in my life. Each of you holds a special place in my heart.

I LOVE YA'LL!!!

Golden Victory!

Congratulations are in order to my girls from the U.S. Women's Basketball team!

They'll be bringing home the GOLD after a 92-56 defeat over Australia, making them the first women's team in ANY sport to take home four straight gold medals! This is the third year in a row that the US Women's team has played Australia in the Gold Medal game and they had NO intentions of stopping the winning tradition! With a team 12 deep of talented players, the US Women extended their over all Olympic Record to a PERFECT 33-0, having not lost a game in the past 4 Olympics. I'm so happy for all of them and I can honestly say that I've never seen sooooo much talent on a single team! I mean...the BENCH alone was averaging almost 40 points per game! That's not even including the starters! They were dominating these teams, only scoring less than 90 points one time and that was in the Semifinals game against Russia! How's that for 12 deep!

The 3 U.S. Players from my all-time favorite WNBA Team, the L.A. Sparks! (Left to Right) Candace Parker (CP3...YEAHHHHHH!), the LEGENDARY Lisa Leslie, and Delisha Milton-Jones!

Destiny's Child Reunion?!?!?!

Those who know and love me know that I am a Destiny's Child FANATIC! So needless to say, when I came across this article, excitement isn't even a good enough word to describe how I felt. I mean...my girls back together after 3 years!!! YESSSSSSSS! Although...the skeptical part of me is saying, "Hmmm...I don't know if B is gonna go for that one." But a much larger part can only hope that this isn't a rumor. I've been a DC fan since the "Get On the Bus" days (what ya'll know about that from the 1998 Why Do Fools Fall In Love Soundtrack) and I still follow all of the girls' careers. I was ecstatic when they got back together the first time after their solo album breaks. A second time would just make my DECADE! Lol!

Destiny's Child Reunion is ON!

KELLY ROWLAND has revealed more about the much-talked about DESTINY’S CHILD reunion. And it could be happening even sooner than we thought. Although speculation about the girls – Rowland, BEYONCE and MICHELLE WILLIAMS - getting back together has been in the air for a while, Kelly has talked about how it might become a reality.

Kelly confided: “I miss the girls, I miss being on stage with them." She also told how she respects the other members of the band, saying: “It’s a blessing when we work together.”The reunion could even include new material. She said: “We’re so looking forward to working with each again and we just need to find a time in our diaries when we can get into the studio together.”

7 News Obtains Copy of Racist Sign

Story Published: Aug 21, 2008 at 7:01 PM EDT
By Kyla Igoe

7 News has obtained a copy of the racist sign that was posted at a Niagara Falls Department of Public Works garage. The sign, reading: "Whites Only Water Fountain" was posted by a drinking fountain and discovered by an employee during an overnight shift at a DPW garage. The director of public works says they are now conducting an internal investigation.

"In this case, I will absolutely go to every avenue and every strength that I have to see that this individual will never even have the opportunity to do anything like this again," said Director of the Niagara Falls Department of Public Works David Kinney. "Its not going to be something that is brushed under the rug, and I'm going to pursue it to its fullest degree."

The Niagara Falls mayor and city administrator also added that the city has a zero tolerance for discrimination. Community leaders are now speaking out.

"I thought that it was very unfortunate that we live in the year 2008 and people would still do something like that," said Pastor Cassandra Salter-Smith from St. James United Methodist Church. "I just couldn't believe it. It just took me back to the 1950's and 1960's where you had white water fountains and black water fountains, or white swimming pools and black swimming pools. It just took me back to that era and its not a good thing."

The DPW is still unsure who placed the racist sign by the water fountain and the case remains under investigation.

It's stuff like this that just sets our country back hundreds of years. It's sad that in the times we're in...where a BLACK man could potentially become the president of this nation....that people still want to have bigot attitudes. I guess this is just another example of how racism will forever be alive in this country...and that's a sad thing.

Impatient!!!

I recently purchased an iPhone after I switched back to AT&T (GOOD RIDDANCE T-MOBILE!), but because they didn't have any in stock at the actual store, they had to order one for me. Well, that was on Wednesday, and when they sent me the shipping notification, it said that the phone would be here by today at 7:00 pm. Well, after not receiving any notification today, I checked again and now the status is saying that it won't be here until Monday! Grrrrrrr! I feel like a 6 year old wanting my new toy NOW! Lol...and seeing the commercials every 15 minutes on TV isn't helping!
God is too good for us to have fear ya'll...
(line from the song "If I Was A Bird" on the Floacism Live album)
~Natalie Stewart
(formerly of the group Floetry)

This is one of those statements that just speaks volumes to me. It's just that simple. God is too good for us to have fear. You just put your faith and your trust in Him and know that WHATEVER it is that you're going through, He'll handle it. He'll never put more on you than you can bear!

I Might Need Some Rehab!

Okay. So I've admitted to myself that I'm an "Olympic Junkie". I embrace that and accept it! After all...this has been the most historic Olympics of all time.

I watched every race that Michael Phelps swam in and won resulting in him making Olympic history by winning an astounding 8 gold medals and breaking 7 world records in the process.

I've seen the 2 most exciting swimming relay races in Olympic history resulting in gold for the Americans by mere hundredths of a second.

I've watched the U.S. Men's Gymnastics team celebrate a bronze medal because with 3 alternates on the team, no one ever thought that they would make it that far.

I've watched the gold slip through the U.S. Women's Gymnastics team's fingers.

I've watched Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh make history by being the only team every to win back to back gold in Women's Beach Volleyball and never lose a set match in the process.

I've watched as Jamaica has almost dominated in the sport of track and field.

I've watched Dayvon Robles jump over hurdles like he's just stepping over puddles.

I've watched Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson prove why they are the two most talented all-around gymnasts in the world.

I've watched as 15 year old Chen Ruolin beat out veterans in the diving competition.

I've watched the U.S. Men's and Women's track and field athletes struggle in these games with disqualifications and losses.

I've watched the men's and women's US volleyball teams as they've made their way to gold medal matches.

I've watched as Venus and Serena Williams reclaimed the gold in the women's doubles games of tennis.

I've watched Usain Bolt break two world records, including the 12 year standing record of Michael Johnson in the 200m race.

And of COURSE I've watched my favorites, the US Men's Basketball "Redeem Team" and the US Women's Basketball team DOMINATE the sport in the city of Beijing.

So yes, I think it's safe to say (especially since I ran all of that info off the top of my head) that I'm a little attached to the Olympics! I stay up for hours with my TV tuned to NBC until the broadcast is over resulting in my going to bed at 4 and 5 in the morning.

However, early this morning (as in around 7 am early) I think my junkie status reached it's peak. Normally I won't go to bed until maybe 5 or 5:30 in the morning. But today, I told myself...I'm going to stay up until 7 and watch the Women's Basketball team play Russia in the semifinals (I usually watch the games later in the day because they provide them on the Olympics website). Well, the little screw end on the cable cord that connects to the outlet broke off a while ago, so because it's just a piece of bent wire stuck in there it makes my picture kinda fuzzy. Well, I decide that I want the picture to be as clear as possible for the game, so I proceed to grab a pair of scissors and try to straigten the bent part of the wire out so that I can push it into the outlet as much as possible for a better picture. I bet you can guess what happened next huh....yep....the wire broke. Well, by this time it's like 6:50 am and the game starts at 7. Instead of me just chillin' out and going to watch it on another TV...I go into panic mode! We don't have any cable strippers at my house, so I grab the scissors and start carving through the cable rubber and insulation trying to find another piece of wire so that I can put it the outlet. Broke a couple of nails trying to get through that insulation and almost went cross-eyed trying to see where the wire was behind the insulation! But you know what? I fixed it...and was even able to put the cable screw part back on the end of it! So, now I have a good as new cable wire, AND I made it to my room just as tip-off was about to start off the game, and I watched it all without a single fuzzy line in the picture! CRAZY...I know. But I guess that's a part of being an "Olympic Junkie!"

Amanda Diva

A few months ago I was on Youtube looking up clips from HBO's: Def Poetry (which by the way is one of the BEST shows HBO has aired) and I ran across this young lady named Amanda Diva performing a poem entitled "Hot Shit". I loved it so much that I "googled" her to see if she had done any other performances. Sure enough, I hit the jackpot! Amanda Diva is an extremely multi-talented, what I call "breath of fresh air" to the hip-hop community. Besides being an accomplished poet, she is also an emcee, journalist, radio & television personality, scholar (she has a Master’s degree in African-American Studies), painter, singer, and lyricist. Simply put, Amanda Diva is definitely one of the best kept secrets in female emcees and hip-hop alike. If you haven't heard of her, please check her out. ESPECIALLY, her webshow Diva Speak TV on Youtube or her blog. She covers everything from music, to current events, to politics and she does it all in a HILARIOUS manner! You won't be disappointed!

***Sidenote: Here's a fun fact for you! Think back to the early 90's days. Do you remember the Nickelodeon television show "My Brother and Me" (come on...you remember "HIT ME! HIT ME! and "Gooooooo Punch!")? Well, she player the character "Dionne", Melanie's best friend who was always talking, very fast might I add, about her boyfriend "Tim". Man, I loved that show when I was a kid!***

My "Songs Stuck In My Head" Playlist

These are 5 songs that you can find me humming, whistling or belting out in the shower, in the car, while I'm listening to my iPod, or even when I'm just sitting around. And with me being the oh so generous and thoughtful person that I am, have provided these songs for your listening and downloading pleasure. Enjoy!

I Need You Bad - Jazmine Sullivan
Jazzy's soulful voice + the thumping reggae beat = one hot song!

Oh How Precious - Kathy Taylor Brown
WHENEVER I catch this song in the car on 95.7 Hallelujah FM, I instantly become a Sunday Morning alto choir member/choir director! Lol!

Take A Bow - Rihanna
I knew, when I heard the first line of this song, that I would love it forever! "You look so dumb right now." CLASSIC Rihanna. Take a bow for this one!

I Will Be - Leona Lewis
Leona sings this song with so much passion that you can't help but love it!

I Put On - Young Jeezy ft. Kanye West
I'mma put on for the M...always! Jeezy and 'Ye have created a hip-hop classic with this one!

AND AS AN ADDED BONUS: I Put On Remix - Young Jeezy ft. Jay-Z
I can't give credit to the original without giving credit to the remix! It's JUST as hot as it's predecessor. Jay comes in and does what he does best...KILLS IT! I don't know all of the words yet, but when I learn them, you can bet I'll be flowin'! Lol

Boom KACK!

I LOVE Making the Band solely for Laurie Ann Gibson and her catchphrases! (Well...it doesn't hurt that it's actually an interesting show too.) But you have to admit...The "Boom KACKS!" and "Muffins" and "Honey Bunches of Oats" just make the show soooooo much better!

***Sidenote: Laurie Ann actually has a Limited Edition Boom Kack Hoody presented by the Wildchild Nation™ Signature Series clothing line. You're laughing right? (And if you're not, I know I was at first!) But the kicker is....that junt is actually pretty fresh (in addition to their other products)! Check it out!***

*Catch "Making the Band" and Laurie Ann's catchphrases Tuesdays at 9:00 p.m. on MTV!*

My Baby Bro is All Grown Up!

So, my brother is finally off to school at Tennessee State University! Me, my mom and his friend Jasmine drove him up to Nashville yesterday and got him all settled and moved into his dorm room. He's rooming with his best friend Brian (my other lil' brother....lol) so of course they're happy about that. He seems to like it up there, so that's good. I still can't believe he's in college! I don't know...I guess I always knew that he'd eventually get to that age, but it's really hitting me now that I'm back at home and he's not here that he's all grown up! I couldn't be more proud of him!

Mom, Kenneth and myself before we left! Awww!

Double Trouble...Kenneth and Brian in their dorm room!

For the Ladies - by Andre Prewitt

I know all of my ladies can feel this one.

The ones who waited all night for him to call, only to check the caller ID the next morning and be disappointed. The ones who made it through that bitter break up, dried your own tears, and moved on with your life, only to have him walk back in it months later like nothing ever happened. Those of you who cried on the first day you talked again because you knew exactly where this phone call was going. The ones who listened to him say, I only want to be your friend, one day, and the next, listened to him say how much he loves and misses you.We deserve something, and this is our tribute. Here's to the ones that took him back, hoping that maybe this time, he was different, hoping that maybe people really do change. We listened to our friends tell us that we were stupid for even thinking about giving him another chance, caught crap from our parents, and even snuck around to see him for a while. We went through the great stage with no fights all over again. We started this out thinking it would be just friends, and ended up falling in love with him again. We wanted nothing more in the world than to hear him tell us he loved us too, that even though things were bad in the past, they would be different this time. And when we finally heard it, it was like we were dreaming. This is for us.Here's to the ones who believed what he said, sat around all over again waiting for a phone call that might come in a few hours, or a few days. Here's for the tears cried and dried all over again. We wanted so desperately to believe that he was really busy, he couldn't possibly call us at that moment, or even that he fell asleep early. We trained ourselves to believe the lies because we wanted to believe we had found the one for us.We learned to SETTLE for someone who didn't treat us the way we should be treated. Here's for the ones who did their hair and make up and put on their prettiest earrings, only to hear him say that he couldn't see us today. The ones who never believed it when people told us there might be someone else. We just couldn't believe that he could do this to us again. This is for those great girls, who loved him more than words can say, and took him back no matter what happened last time because they couldn't bear to look back on their lives one day and wonder "what if".Here's to the girls who couldn't cry to their friends because of how stupid they felt. The ones who held it all in when things came crumbling to pieces again. This is for the ones who couldn't bear to even tell their mom what was going on, for fear of an "I told you so."The ones that could just TELL that they had made a mistake ever allowing him into their hearts, their beds, and their dreams again. We knew that we deserved better the entire time, that we deserved a guy who would call when he said he was going to, one that would come see us whenever he got the chance, one that would really care about us. We just wanted the one that we loved like that. Here's for the ones that FINALLY realized that he never gave a crap about them. Here's for the time that he broke your heart again. This is for those days spent trying to hold back the tears, and the tears that turned into anger, then disappointment. Here's for us girls who finally realized that we deserve better. This is for those confusing days, when you miss him, and want nothing more than to hear his voice, or feel his arms around your waist. Stay strong, and remember that relationships are like broken glass, sometimes it's better to leave it alone rather than try to put the pieces back together and get hurt. Remember the times you cried, and how long it took you to even be able to look at another guy like that.

When "your song" comes on the radio, turn the station. When the day comes that he realizes what a mistake he made and tries calling, turn your phone off. When he tries coming to your house, don't answer the door. Think of the broken promises, and the lies, the manipulation and the tears, the wasted moments and staying up all night wondering where the crap he was. Think of how your heart used to jump when your phone would vibrate in the middle of the night, and how it fell to your stomach when you saw it wasn't him, and realized that once again, he hadn't called when he said he was going to.

One day, you'll find a guy who's worth all the tears, but he won't make you cry. You may think that you'll never care about someone like you did that guy that you always ran back to, but you will. It's gonna hurt like crap, and it's going to need time to heal, but the point is, it will heal. This is for those girls, who fell back in love with their ex, only to get hurt all over again.

BIG Business!

SO...a friend of mine working in the A&R department of Atlantic Records/Warner Music Group recruited lil' ole me to re-design the mypsace page of...wait for it....Kevin Liles! If you don't know who Kevin Liles is, number 1, you've been living under a rock. Number 2, he is the former president of Def Jam records and is now the current VP of Warner Music Group, among too many other accolades to name. Well to say I'm somewhat nervous to be doing some work for such a LEGENDARY person, even something as small as a myspace page, is an understatement, but I'm STUPID excited and hopefully he'll like my work. Cross your fingers and PRAY for me ya'll!

I Feel So Special!

One of my good friends recently wrote this about me in his blog...

Admiration
"I just wanted to give a shoutout to my homegirl K.T., You my friend are a wonderful person, beautiful inside and out and talented beyond measures. Glad we got in touch, Believe it or not you inspire me and keep me tryna get like you. You never know who looks up to you so thanks for being an inspiration."
-Andre

Man...it made my day to read something like that Dre, so thank you, thank you, THANK YOU much for the love! You, sir, are quite the motivation yourself. Your hustle and enthusiasm for life is unmatched. I don't think I've met anybody as determined as you. It's that attitude that lets me KNOW that you're gonna get everything that you want out of life and more. We both got big dreams...now let's make em happen!

Us kickin it being goofy as hell...lol!

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN…THIS IS RAW TALENT!

I love music and every once in a while I stumble upon an artist that I feel is what I like to call a “hidden gem”. Ryan Leslie is one of those gems. Producer, songwriter, singer, musician…he has all of the bases covered. In a nutshell…the guy is SICK! I can’t wait to see what else he has up his sleeve. If you haven’t heard about him…GOOGLE him. NOW!

10 Things I'm Realizing At This Exact Moment...

  1. HTML gives me a headache!
  2. I am officially declaring myself as an “Olympics Junkie.”
  3. This plane ticket I’m SUPPOSED to be buying to go to New York at the end of August is probably gonna be expensive as hell.
  4. I haven’t had a carbonated drink in days!
  5. I love my friends to death! We had tooo much fun tonight at Bigfoot.
  6. This month’s issue of Vibe is the thickest one I’ve seen in a while..and HOV is on the cover. YES!
  7. I need to e-mail this man about some work he wants me to do.
  8. Oops…I need to text Amanda back.
  9. Dre just got real quiet on instant messenger.
  10. 10. Dang…it’s 2:05 a.m. already.

The reeling in a pitch black room is tedious.

The developing process is agonizingly long.

The wait time for drying is irritating.

The printing process that requires excess re-printing for that perfect print is wearying.

But the capture is inspiring...

And the RESULTS.......

The RESULTS are sooooo worth it! :-)

So it Begins...

So it's around 10:00 p.m. and I'm chilling watching the Olympics and trying to put some tweaks on this here new blog...lol!
